Bulbasaur Regional Variant

Description

A few days ago I drew up some designs of what the Kanto starters might look like in my region. I ended up deciding to make sprite versions of them by modifying already existing sprites of the original pokemon.

I began with Bulbasaur, and continued on to make Ivysaur and Venasaur. Instead of Grass/Poison their secondary type is now Ground, and it makes its home in the desert area of this region.

This group of pokemon love to bury themselves in the sand, and while doing so their backs are usually mistaken for ordinary cactuses. They like to use their cacti as a source of retrieving nourishment, by secreting a scent from the tops of their plant they lure prey in, and upon getting stuck to the cactus the foe's energy is drained. The cactus on a Vensaur's back sometimes seems to have a life of it's own, as it can be seen moving and sometimes dancing...it will stand still when waiting for prey, and then grab hold with its arms and will not let go until the energy of its catch is completely sucked dry.

Credits: Because I did not create the sprites used to make them, nor the creatures in which this was formed (and what it became), I give credit to those who made it possible for me to do this. Thank you.

Nintendo, Game Freak, and the Pokémon Co. - Pokemon being a product of theirs.
